TOAST is an acronym for Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment. It’s a classification system for ischemic strokes that categorizes them into five subtypes.
TOAST subtypes Large-artery atherosclerosis (LAA), Cardioembolic (CE), Small-vessel occlusion (SVO), Stroke of other determined etiology (OTH), and Stroke of undetermined etiology (UND).
