Stroke Early Warning Signs: Strokes in Men

by Admin1122

Strokes may present differently in men. There are two main types of strokes: ischemic and hemorrhagic. An ischemic stroke occurs when there’s a lack of oxygen to parts of the brain, causing brain cells to die within minutes. A hemorrhagic stroke happens when a blood vessel ruptures in the brain. Men can have unique symptoms, such as sudden confusion without the typical signs of weakness or facial droop. They may have trouble understanding speech, visual losses in one or both eyes, or weakness in just one arm or leg. Instead of weakness or slurred speech, they might experience sudden dizziness, difficulty walking, or loss of coordination. A hemorrhagic stroke might present with a sudden, piercing headache. To quickly assess a stroke, use the FAST method: F for face—check for facial symmetry or drooping. A for arms—ask them to raise their arms and see if one arm stays down. S for speech—listen for slurred or repetitive speech. T for time—call 911 immediately. Time is crucial, as certain treatments are most effective within three hours of symptom onset. Even if symptoms have been present for more than three hours, seek medical help immediately. #stroke #strokecauses #health
