The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Blood Disorders offered a webinar on how mechanical thrombectomy is shifting blood clot treatment on June 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. ET.

Mechanical thrombectomy removes blood clots from a patient’s vein. This emerging procedure is reshaping how doctors approach the treatment of blood clots.

Dr. Carin Gonsalves, interventional radiologist at Thomas Jefferson University and a member of NBCA’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Board, and Dr. Michael Knox, interventional radiologist at Corewell Health, discussed the latest research and technological breakthroughs around mechanical thrombectomy.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Alejandra Gutierrez Bernal, cardiologist at the University of Minnesota and a member of our Council of Emerging Researchers in Thrombosis.
